Every year we go to the medical device and laboratory trade fairs. Not to stroll between stands, but to sit down with the manufacturers we import from. Here is what we look for there and why it matters for your order.
We see the factory, not just the catalogue
A PDF catalogue looks the same for everyone. At the stand you can ask which batch the sample comes from, who does the quality control, what capacity the production line has and how long an order of 500 boxes takes at peak season. None of these answers appear on a technical data sheet.
At TOP GLOVE, the manufacturer in Malaysia we buy our disposable gloves from, the conversation is always about the same thing: consistent thickness and strength from batch to batch. A glove that passes the test once means nothing. What matters is that the hundredth box is identical to the first.
We compare products that look identical
Two boxes of nitrile gloves, both CE marked and both compliant with EN 455, can have different fingertip thickness and different puncture resistance. At the fair you can feel both, stretch them and ask for the test reports. That is how we choose what goes into our warehouse.

The same goes for laboratory consumables. At MOS LAB we look at sample containers and infectious waste boxes: how they close, whether they can be opened again after sealing, how well the lids hold during transport.

We stay in touch for when a problem comes up
The most practical benefit of a trade fair is having someone to call. When a batch is late or a customer has a complaint about a product, we go straight to the person responsible for that line, not to a generic support address.

That is the difference between being a direct importer and being a reseller. It is not just a question of price, it is also about getting an answer when you need one.
Looking for a product you can’t find in our catalogue? We will source it from the manufacturers we work with. Send us your request.
